Answer:
Marine collagen taken from ocean-dwelling fish can be contaminated with heavy metals and other undesirable trace elements. Using our own freshwater, sustainable, farm-raised fish minimizes this risk. Another disadvantage of using collagen from ocean fish is that it is often produced by blending the skins from a wide variety of species. In addition to the lack of traceability and uniformity, this practice is more likely to add unwanted odors and flavors to the collagen. This is not an issue with Vinh Wellness’ highly-controlled, single-source, freshwater production. And, unlike collagen from ocean-caught fish, ours is low in sodium.
